PyBot v1.2
« on: March 29, 2009, 10:05:57 PM »
A bot coded in Python that is open source. Has lots of unique ideas and functions and is able to be used on any operating system that supports Python (Mac OS X and Linux).

PyBot is a Battle.net chat and op bot that was designed to be an effective channel operator. It is in heavy testing, and so you should express caution, and not be alarmed if you find bugs. Instead, post about them here. If you feel that it is a technical issue, you may post in the Technical Support section.

As usual, you may find any information you may need on the about page.

Here is a brief overview of PyBot.

    * Supports very extensive systems for developing plugins
    * Protects your channel from possible annoyances or loads
    * Perfect for chatting or keeping an eye on your channel
    * Unlimited flexibility if you understand the Python language

It also supports PyNet which allows other PyBots to communicate with each other.

Pretty much anyone who doesn't know that I made PyNet asks me what it is. I am a fan of FAQs because they don't bullshit you and answer your questions directly. Without further ado, here it is.

Q What is it?
A PyNet is server software (the current release is attempt #3 ;P) designed to do 2 major things. The first is to synchronize all of the bots on it, to keep excessive messages and bans to a minimum. The second is to allow everyone to communicate across servers, and report statuses to other bots. It has many functions that Battle.net does such as whisper, channels, communication, and added tools. You can find any of your friends with it.

Q Why?
A Forsaken Ops has a similar (original) server called Sovereign designed to do the same, however PyNet contains more featured chatting options. It works extremely well, and there is no harm in having your bots ban together.

Q Who is doing this? Doesn't it violate my privacy?
A Probably, if you for some reason feel uncomfortable with us being able to talk to you, you may turn it off. In StealthBot's case just don't download it.

Q What if i'm having a bad day and decide to abuse it?
A You won't be back. Ever.

Q Where do I get it?
A It comes in PyBot. There are optional plugins for StealthBot Beta 2.7 and higher. Previous are not supported due to a lack of script control.

Required files and how to install:
    *  Install Python 2.6.1:
          o Windows (all): Click here
          o Mac OS X: Click here
          o Linux: Python is pre-installed on Linux, skip this step. If you need it for some reason, consult this page.

* Install wxPython for Python 2.6.1:
          o Windows XP (32bit): Click here
          o Windows Vista (64bit): Click here
          o Mac OS X: Click here
          o Linux (Fedora and Ubunto): Consult this page

* Download PyBot:
          o Extract it into its own folder.
          o Execute run (batch file) in the folder to make sure it works. It will open a DOS window.
          o If the bot loads:
                + Click settings and set them up. You are done, press connect.
          o If the bot DOES NOT load:
                + You may have not installed Python or wxPython correctly, try starting over.
                + You have the wrong files or the wrong version of Python, try starting over.

Download PyNet: Click Here

System requirements:

    * 256mb of RAM (128 consoleless)
    * 5mb of free space
    * wxPython (gui modules, not necessary if you don't want a ui)
    * If you do not have a compiled (binary) version:
          o Python 2.6
    * You may also need:
          o ctypes (windows extension module, allows for control of Winamp)
          o Icons.bni (contains user icons, packed with PyBot usually)

Yes, it only had warden issues, but since it's off on most of the servers it's fine.

The Linux philosophy is "laugh in the face of danger". Oops. Wrong one. "Do it yourself". That's it.

I have doubts as to how much Python on an itouch will allow you to do, unless you've jailbroken that itouch.
If you don't use wxPython, the bot won't have any GUI (just a console/terminal), and that's betting on if the developer designed it to be functional with only the console, otherwise, you're out of luck.

ISO of SS for PyBot and, does it have Proxy Support? If so does it work with HDX's warden bypass?

I wouldn't want to get caught using a bot that doesn't support Warden or use a bot that I'll have to scrap using because they turned Warden back on, thus I would run the Warden Bypass all the time even if Warden was disabled so that I wouldn't get caught. Hence why I'm curious if it has proxy support and, if the Warden Bypass would work with it.

I sifted through the badly written code to this bot over a week ago. I noticed some code that gave me the impression that the bot can connect via a proxy (I don't remember if it was both SOCKS4 and 5, or just 4). As for warden, it'd be easier for the developer to even add warden support via one of the public DLL's that handle the task, if he doesn't want to implement it himself.
